Saudi Arabia’s crude exports to China fell 14% from a year earlier in February to 4.7 million tons, or around 1.2 million barrels/day, according to data from China’s General Administration of Customs. CLSA’s Nelson Wang doesn’t call that surprising in the wake of the OPEC output-cut deal. “This means as long as Saudi’s domestic consumption doesn’t fall drastically, it would have less to export.” The kingdom was still China’s leading crude supplier last month, followed by Russia at 4.1 million tons and Angola at 3.1 million.
