In its closely watched monthly oil market report, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries said the group’s total crude output declined by 77,000 barrels a day in February, month-on-month, to average 32.19 million barrels a day, mainly a result of lower output in the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Iraq. However, total global oil supply climbed by 370,000 barrels a day last month, to average 98.2 million barrels a day, boosted by burgeoning U.S. shale oil output, OPEC said. Accordingly, the cartel raised its expectations for non-OPEC supply from last month for 2018 by 280,000 barrels a day, to 59.53 million barrels a day, with the U.S. as the main driver of growth. OPEC said it now expects U.S. shale production to average 5.72 million barrels a day in 2018, a month-on-month upward revision of 130,000 barrels a day.
