The $27 billion Yamal LNG plant developed by Russia’s Novatek, France’s Total as well as China’s CNPC and the Silk Road Fund, started exporting in December. Novatek is building a third production train which is expected to be launched next year, raising annual LNG output to 16.5 million tonnes. It also expects to launch a fourth line with a capacity of 900,000 tonnes per year at a later date.
