The Bogota, Colombia-based company said it is expecting benchmark oil prices in the range of $55 and $65 a barrel. It expects the net profit breakeven price for 2019 to remain at $36 a barrel. Ecopetrol said its plan is centered on growth in its upstream segment, which accounts for 81% of total expected investment, enabling projected 2019 production of between 720,000 and 730,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, and the addition of proven reserves equivalent to 100% of oil and gas production. For capital investment, 92% is expected to be allocated to projects in Colombia, while the remainder is expected to be invested in positioning the Ecopetrol Group in prospective basins in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil.
