The volumes were only second to the 1.99 million tons exported in December last year. Data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation shows that 29 vessels departed the three plants during the month, three more than in October. Compared to the month of October, exports rose 9.5 percent. Compared to the corresponding month last year when exports reached 1.7 million tons, volumes rose 12.9 percent. The rise in volumes was boosted by the increase in Chinese imports that reached a new high with 1.49 million tons of the chilled fuel, 13 percent up month on month. The remaining volumes landed in South Korea, Japan and Malaysia, the data shows. LNG exports from the three terminals totaled 18.81 million tons in the January-November period, with a total of 283 cargoes shipped.
