The Dallas-based firm, which also operates in the Haynesville Shale and Cotton Valley plays in northeast Louisiana and East Texas and in South Texas’ Eagle Ford shale, has been focusing on high-return assets that can yield decent results when commodity prices are low or volatile. It also has been expanding its reach through gathering and processing activities. Activity in the Permian, in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, has been prolific in recent years as new infrastructure is added to move more resources to demand markets along the US Gulf Coast, both for domestic use and for exports. NGLs also are extracted for use by the petrochemical industry. Continued growth is expected out of the Permian due to debottlenecking that will start in the fourth quarter of this year, Societe Generale said in a February 15 note to clients. ?
