Using ultrasonic to prevent marine organism gained remarkable effect

Development Oil Production Company invented ultrasonic seawater filter and applied it in the platform of Qikou 17-2, BZ 28-2SCEP and “Offshore Oil 113”, and gained remarkable effect. According to statistics, each ultrasonic seawater filter could save the annual maintenance cost of 1.59 million RMB for the company.

Ship, seawater pipe and cooling system of offshore platform both faced the problem of being polluted and damaged by marine organism. What’s worse, it may clog pipe and stop production. Traditional mechanical removal method is labor-intensive and lack of efficiency, and chemical method would pollute marine environment.

Technology of using ultrasonic to prevent marine organism which was invented by Development Oil Production Company adopted “cavitation effect” of ultrasonic. The effect is to mix the ultrasonic of certain frequency and intensity with the liquid to generate a large number of tiny bubbles, so that the production facilities of platform were protected from being stick by marine organism. This technology has gained one invention patent and three utility model patents.
