Shale gas resource of three blocks including Changning reached 222.1 billion cubic meters

On March 8, Environmental Protection Bureau of Sichuan Province informed that production construction project of shale gas development in three blocks including Changning, Weiyuan, Zhaotong had gained the approval of environment evaluation. The total investment of the project was 24.648 billion yuan and geological reserves was 222.1 billion cubic meters with annual increase production of 2.6 billion cubic meters. The approval required that it must control the drilling noise pollution strictly and monitor disposal of waste water in the whole process to ensure the safety of drinking water during the construction.

The project intended to build nineteen drilling platforms and some gas pipelines on the basis of the development of all blocks, in addition, four drilling platforms were intended to build in Weiyuan block. The new platforms and gas pipelines were located in Gong, Xingwen, Junlian of Yibin City, Weiyuan, Shizhong, Zizhong of Neijiang City and Rongxian of Zigong City, the location and selected lines were not in the range of town planning.

Four drilling platforms of Weiyuan block were in the stage of planning.
