丹麥Maersk Drilling公司的Maersk Highlander自升式鉆井平臺已抵達蘇格蘭，目前已基本準備就緒，將在英國北海Culzean油氣田開始作業活動。
2016年8月5日星期五，Maersk Drilling通過其社交媒體渠道宣稱：該鉆井平臺在Sembcorp Marine的Jurong船廠建造出廠后，已從新加坡運抵蘇格蘭地區。該平臺由Dockwise重型運輸船裝載，6月從船廠出發，是Maersk Drilling 于5月底從陷入財務困境的Hercules Offshore公司購買所得。平臺原名為Hercules Highlander，由丹麥鉆井承包商購買后，改名為Maersk Highlander加入新公司作業船隊。
該平臺與丹麥Maersk Oil及其合作伙伴英國BP、日本JX Nippon簽訂了Culzean油氣田五年期鉆井合同。合同價值約為4.2億美元（包含900萬美元的調動費）。Maersk Highlander是Friede & Goldman公司設計的JU2000E型鉆井平臺，作業水深為400英尺，鉆井深度達3萬英尺，能適應高溫高壓環境，可容納150人居住。

Maersk Drilling’s jack-up drilling rig, the Maersk Highlander, has reached Scotland and it is ‘almost ready’ to start working for Maersk Oil on the Culzean field, in the UK North Sea.
Maersk Drilling informed on Friday, August 5, 2016, through its social media channels that the rig arrived to Scotland, following a journey from Singapore where it was built by Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard. The rig, loaded onto a Dockwise heavy transport vessel, set off on its journey from the shipyard in June. Maersk Drilling bought it from the financially troubled Hercules Offshore in late May. The rig was originally named Hercules Highlander and after the acquisition by the Danish drilling contractor entered Maersk Drilling’s fleet with the name Maersk Highlander.
The rig came with a five-year drilling contract with Maersk Oil and its partners, BP and JX Nippon, on the Culzean field. The contract is valued around $420 million, including a mobilization fee of $9m. Maersk Highlander is of a Friede & Goldman JU2000E, categorized as a 400ft rig, with 30,000ft drilling depth and HPHT (High-Pressure High-Temperature) capabilities. It has accommodation capacity for up to 150 personnel.
