The U-25 probe, drilled in the Fedorovsky block in west Kazakhstan that hosts the field, flowed 111,000 cubic metres per day of gas and 245 cubic metres (1541 barrels) per day of condensate on an 11mm choke during testing of a 12-metre interval in a lower formation of the Tournaisian reservoir.London-listed KMG EP said in a statement “hydrocarbon resources are expected to increase not only due to further exploration, but also due to update of the area of the remaining category С1 resources”.The company intends to continue testing of upper, main gas-bearing formations of the reservoir once tests of the lower strata are completed.KMG EP holds a 50% stake in Ural Group whose 100%-owned subsidiary Ural Oil and Gas holds the exploration and production licence for the Fedorovsky block.
