Global Oil Stockpiles May Be Smaller Than Projected
Energy Aspects says global oil stockpiles may be smaller than projected if crude being used to fill strategic petroleum reserves in emerging nations such as China is deducted from the overall figure. For instance out of China’s 1.28 billion barrel build-up, 285 million barrels have gone into Beijing’s strategic petroleum reserve. “We describe this as one-off demand, not available for market use,” say analysts for the London-based consultancy firm.
