Asia to Remain Gasoline’s Growth Area
Given that auto sales in North America and Europe are expected to be largely stagnant, Asia will remain the biggest market for gasoline, says Total (TOT) refining executive Jean-Jacques Mosconi at an energy conference in Singapore. He notes that in China, there are around 60-80 cars per 1,000 inhabitants, versus 800 cars in the US per 1,000 people. “The potential is in Asia. People here are buying new cars, like those in US and Europe 30 years ago.”
