Neuquen’s government has awarded a 35-year production license for the block to Buenos Aires-based Pluspetrol, Governor Omar Gutierrez said in a statement late Wednesday. Pluspetrol started testing the potential in 2016, and is expected to complete the 35-well pilot project by 2020, according to the statement. If the results find resources economically viable for production, the company “will consider continuing with the development of the block with an investment of $350 million,” the provincial government said.
