Qatar lets contract to expand LNG processing capacity

Qatar Petroleum (QP) has let a contract to Chiyoda Corp. to conduct a detailed study to expand the operator’s natural gas processing capacity in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Doha, Qatar.
The study will identify modifications required to debottleneck capacity of QP’s existing LNG trains in Ras Laffan Industrial City in order to process additional gas production from the planned development in the southern sector of North field, the companies said in separate releases.
Scheduled to be completed before yearend, the study will allow QP to kick off front-end engineering and design work in early 2018.
