China Refiners Seen Trying to Grab Margin Jump
June refining activity is projected to show a sizable increase in China as firms rush to take advantage of the refining-margin increase seen in May, according to a government report. Capacity utilization is seen rising to 81.2% from 78.1% in May, according to the China Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals report. That after refining margin/tonne jumped 23% last month from April. Higher output is likely to result in increased exports, building on a trend already seen this year. Refined-product exports have risen 19% in 2017.
