The company will invest the money in a five-year project to drill 13 horizontal wells on the Rincon de Mangrullo block, it said in a filing with the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange.
It will target gas resources in the Lajas and Mulichinco tight plays as well as in the Vaca Muerta shale play, according to the filing.
YPF, the biggest oil and gas producer in the country, said it is moving forward with the pilot after getting an extension to its license for the block until 2052, with the option for a further extension. ?
