YPF will invest $21.5 billion of that total by itself, while the rest will come through partnerships with other companies. YPF, which is already Argentina’s leading energy company, aims to increase oil and gas output by 5% annually through 2022, when it will total 700,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day. The company plans to focus on conventional output by drilling over 1,600 wells. The company will also invest in unconventional energy and aims to raise its production by 150%. By 2022, shale oil and tight gas will account for half of the country’s total output, YPF said in a statement. ?
