Petrobras signs new $5B financing deal with CDB Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras said Tuesday it signed a new $5 billion financing agreement with the China Development Bank (CDB) on Dec. 4, extending into 2027.
The company also signed a commercial agreement with Unipec Asia Co., establishing a preferential supply of 100,000 barrels of oil-equivalent per day (BOE/d), based on market conditions. The 10-year deal will replace an agreement between the companies in 2009, due in 2019, which will be terminated early upon debt prepayment with CDB.
“Petrobras will continue to evaluate debt prepayment and new financing opportunities, in accordance with its liabilities management strategy, in order to improve its amortization profile, taking into account the deleveraging goal set forth in its Business and Management Plan 2017-2021,” the firm said.
