The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that storage levels shrank by 221.5 billion cubic feet of gas during the week ended Dec. 29, according to the average forecast of 14 analysts, brokers and traders surveyed by The Wall Street Journal. For the Dec. 29 week, the median estimate is for a decrease of 221 bcf. Estimates range from a drop of 210 bcf to a decline of 243 bcf. The estimate for Dec. 29 compares to 76 bcf taken from storage in the same week last year and a five-year average draw of 99 bcf for that week.
