Futures for February delivery rose 17.8 cents, or 6.1%, at $3.084 a million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange, closing at the highest level in nearly two weeks. On Thursday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that natural gas stockpiles declined by 359 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jan. 5, a record weekly drop.
