Wednesday awarded China National Petroleum Co. a 10% stake each in the Lower Zakum, and Umm Shaif and Nasr offshore concessions, ADNOC said in a statement.
With the latest award, ADNOC has now awarded all of the 40% stake that was up for offer in the two concessions.
PetroChina, CNPC’s listed subsidiary, contributed a participation fee of Dirhams 2.1 billion ($575 million) to enter the Umm Shaif and Nasr concession and a fee of Dirhams 2.2 billion ($600 million) to enter the Lower Zakum concession, ADNOC said, adding that both concessions would be operated by ADNOC Offshore, on behalf of all concession partners.
CNPC joins Italy’s Eni (10%) and France’s Total (20%) in the Umm Shaif and Nasr concession, and India’s ONGC Videsh-led consortium (10%), Japan’s Inpex (10%), Eni (5%) and Total (5%) as participants in the Lower Zakum concession. ADNOC has retained a 60% majority share in both concessions.
