The pipeline will allow gasoil from the 3 million mt/year (60,000 b/d) Numaligarh refinery in India’s Assam state to be exported to oil storage tanks in Bangladesh’s northern Parbatipur region. Gasoil demand in Bangladesh’s 16 northern districts is estimated at around 1.10 million mt/year. BPC will import around 5 million mt of gasoil over 15 years, BPC’s director for operations and planning, Sayed Mohammad Mozammel Haque said.
