The contract was awarded in July by the Administración Portuaria Integral de Baja California Sur following a public bid process, the company said in its statement.The LNG received by the new terminal will be used by local consumers and will introduce natural gas into the State of Baja California Sur. Founder and chairman of New Fortress Energy, Wes Edens, noted the company is looking to partner with local industries, communities and authorities in developing the project. The facility is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2020, New Fortress Energy said.
