Natural gas for December delivery was recently 4.3% higher at $4.212 a million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices have been whipsawed this week, notching historic gains Wednesday only to slide by 17% Thursday, the steepest one-day decline in gas prices since 2003. Overall, though, prices are more than 10% higher from a week ago on worries of storage deficits heading into winter. ?
