(QEP) on Monday said it agreed to sell its natural-gas assets in northwest Louisiana for $735 million as it moves toward becoming a pure-play Permian Basin energy company. Denver-based QEP said it is selling natural-gas and oil producing properties, undeveloped acreage and associated gas gathering and treating systems in the Haynesville and Cotton Valley areas to Aethon III, an affiliate of private-equity firm Aethon Energy Management LLC. QEP said it will use proceeds from the sale, which it expects to complete in January with an effective date of July 1, 2018, to fund development of its core Permian assets, reduce debt and buy back stock. ?
