The company is also set, on Monday, to offer gas for day-ahead delivery to the Austrian virtual trading point for the first time. Sales via the ESP are becoming more flexible, with the first day-ahead sale made in late December 2018 for delivery to Germany’s Gaspool hub, and the first ever balance-of-month gas sale last week. Gazprom Export said Monday that a standard framework contract was being prepared that would allow balance-of-month sales on a regular basis. “Gazprom Export believes that the introduction of new flexible sales instruments, like balance-of-month and day-ahead contracts, will attract additional interest to the company’s products,” it said. Gazprom Export has sold a total of 283 million cu m for delivery across the first quarter since the start of 2019 — the equivalent of close to some 47 million cu/d across the six daily auctions so far this year. The majority of sales in 2019 have been for February delivery to Gaspool, with a small volume sold for March delivery to Gaspool and some gas sold for February delivery to the German NCG hub, the Arnoldstein interconnection point and the Slovakian virtual trading point. ?
