The volumes sold were for day-ahead delivery to the TTF, NCG and Gaspool hubs, and the Austrian and Slovakian virtual trading points. Sales on the ESP fell sharply from January 21, averaging just 11 million cu m/d, as the European market has become increasingly bearish with strong pipeline flows, robust LNG imports and weakening weather-related demand. That compares with average sales of 44 million cu m/d in the period January 4-18 when there was still significant risk premium in European gas on the prospect of a prolonged cold snap. The trend for ESP sales also shifted to more prompt delivery, with sales in the period January 21-February 1 almost exclusively for day-ahead, weekend or balance-of-month delivery. In Tuesday’s auction, Gazprom Export is again offering gas for delivery in March. Volumes sold on the ESP since late September totaled 2.31 Bcm. Gazprom Export has sold gas via the ESP in three waves to date. The first was for delivery of gas in Q4 2018, the second for delivery predominantly in January 2019, and now a third wave that has included day-ahead volumes as well as February and March sales. ?
