Wood Group Supporting Launch Of Kazakh Oil Field. A $700 million investment by Wood Group will help support operations at the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan, which is one of the largest oil fields in the region.
Iran To Begin Exporting Natural Gas To Iraq. Iran is planning to export 7 million cubic meters of natural gas a day in the next month to supply a power plant in Iraq as Iran continues to boost its exports in the wake of easing sanctions earlier this year. [Houston Chronicle]
Norway’s July Oil Output At Highest Since 2011. “Norway’s preliminary oil output rose in July, exceeding the official forecast for the month by nine percent, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Tuesday, while natural gas production also rose month-on-month. [Reuters]
LNG Market Gets Boost From Renegotiations. The current gas glut may lead to more trading from new LNG supplies in US and Australia, as a number of countries continue reworking long-term contracts to better align them with current prices. [Bloomberg]
Sabal Trail Natural Gas Pipeline Gets OK From Feds. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and US Army Corps of Engineers finalized permits for the $3.2 billion Sabal Trail natural gas pipeline which will carry gas across Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Tim Kaine Now Opposes Offshore Drilling? Industry officials and Republicans are criticizing Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., the Democratic nominee for vice president, for saying he now opposes offshore drilling after previously discussing re-examining the federal moratorium on offshore drilling.
